What does an independent Pigment implementation advisor do?
We sit on your side of the table while a partner builds your Pigment model. We review the design before it’s built, check the build as it happens, and help you decide when it’s ready to accept, so the decisions that are expensive to reverse get a second senior opinion.
Why would we need one if we already have a partner?
Because your partner is building and you are paying, and someone senior should be looking out for the finance team’s interests. Most finance teams buy Pigment once. Our team has worked on dozens of Pigment projects and knows which early choices cause trouble later.
What do you review?
The decisions that are hardest to change once the model is live:
- Dimensions and granularity: what the model plans at, and what it shouldn’t
- Calculation design: sparsity, driver logic and how heavy formulas will scale
- Data flows: what comes in from which system, how often, and who owns it
- Security: access rights that match how your organization actually works
- Readiness for Pigment AI: names, descriptions and AI data access set up from the start
- Acceptance: test scripts and sign-off criteria written from the finance side
Will this slow our implementation down?
It shouldn’t. We fit the partner’s schedule and keep our reviews short and written. Catching a design problem in week two costs far less than finding it after go-live.

Openly and constructively. We tell the partner we are involved, we raise issues early and privately, and we judge the work, not the people. Our aim is a project that succeeds for everyone, including the partner.
